Group Herb Tasting & Sensory Group Work

Sensory herbal medicine workshops

The sensory herbal medicine workshops offer an interactive learning opportunity to connect with the energetics and science of herbal medicine whilst offering life long skills that enable us to understand the properties of herbs (and foods) purely through the senses and our bodies innate ability to recognise the medicine of plants. Each session is centred around an intuitive and sensory plant study, during which a prepared medicine will be tasted by the group.

Ruth guides the group through this sensory process to help engage the innate ability to identify with the plants through the use of the intuition and senses. Through this exercise the group will spend a period of quiet, meditative time channeling sensory information from the plant, learning to tap into the bodies innate ability to recognise the energetics and chemistry of plant medicines. Ruth encourages the group to write down these insights.

Ruth guides the group into a quiet space to tune into the senses and channel information about the plants after drinking a fresh herbal infusion. This deep and interactive plant study is a time for deepening to truly connect with your body and the plant subject.

To identify with wild plants on a sensory and intuitive level is a forgotten skill of hunter gatherers. For most of us this invaluable skill lays dormant within our mammal subconscious. With practice, re-engaging with our sensory system in this way enables us to identify the active chemistry and medicinal qualities of the plants.

After the plant study, Ruth will share both modern and traditional insights of the plant studied, a moment which often leads to a huge amount of wonder and surprise by the group, who will most likely have already channeled and described this information through their sensory findings.

Workshops and talks can be booked privately by small or large groups or for corporate events.
